I've had this question bugging for a very, very long time.

If an afterlife does exist, how do we benefit from hanging around in this world for eighty or so years?

The way I see it, the longer we stay here, the less likely we are to end up in the 'good' afterlife.

You see, when an afterlife does exist, this life would be a lot like high school. We learn new stuff. We make new friends. We have fun. However, everything we make out of ourselves here will only serve as the basis for what afterlife we end up in. It really doesn't have any other purpose. It won't make a difference if you got a 98 in your Generosity subject and this other guy got a 96. You both end up in the best afterlife, and what happens here is what's really important. It may seem to matter while we're still here, but it'll soon fade away once we've stepped in to college. In a way, our life is just one big entrance exam to get into the University of Heaven.

Maybe this post isn't really about the afterlife.

I can't seem to recall high school anymore.
