Okay, maybe it's my age showing. But WTF is wrong with those asses at VH1 Rock Honors?
Genesis?! (good until Collins took over, then they sold out)
Heart?! (pop sellouts)
ZZTOP???????????!!!!!!!!!! (pop sellouts)
I guess the term rock is a broad enough brush to also paint shit with. Just my opinion folks. If you like those bands that's fine. But to me rock means ROCK, not pop or alternative or anything in between. I think I will wait til the end of the show to watch. At least Ozzy makes sense to me.
They left someone out this year that would have made far more sense. Eddie Van Halen may be showing his age these days, but he still laid some of the best riffs ever in the history of rock and roll. One day TPTB at VH1 will get their heads out of their asses and remember that.
Edited to add: Yes, I know that VH sold out when DLR left. But that doesn't change the fact that the old Van Halen (not Van Hagar) was still one of the best rock bands ever.
