I realize how much I'm about to sound like a noooooob but whatever.
I used to be in to fishkeeping. It's been a while but I set up a little 10 gallon earlier this year and when I was offered a 90 gallon for free with a stand and 6 boxes worth of stuff, I was so excited!
So here's my silly question. We had set up an undergravel filter with intentions of also running a mechanical filter. Well, the filter that was given to us that works for this size tank, is missing pieces. But we were given a smaller one and had been running that along with the undergravel filter. I used to have a 29 gallon and have a filter for it (for up to 40 gallons.) If I add that to the tank, is it powerful enough without going out and buying one made for up to 100 gallons?
Okay that was confusing. Long story short, if I have an undergravel set up and two mediumish size filters running, will it do close to as well as one filter made for this size aquarium?
Because to me it seems it would actually make more sense to have one on each side that is a little less powerful that one powerful one. Or am I just dumb?
Thanks for your patience ;)
