Apologies
Okay, so I've been been reading fan fic for about 3 years now strictly as a lurker. In those three years I've probably read a few hundred fics and posted, maybe 5 comments. I never really thought about it before, I just never really knew what to say so I moved on to the next fic without another thought. This all changed this afternoon when I officially came out of lurker mode to post my first fic.
Again, I didn't think that much of it, it was just a little something I cobbled together during my work breaks and I thought it was alright and maybe someone else would like to read it so I posted it. In less then an hour I'd gotten 6 comments. This may not seem like a lot, but they were all so sweet and nice and encouraging that before I knew it I'd written another chapter for them out of gratitude.
The point I'm trying to make here is that I had no idea that one short comment could mean so much to a writer until I got one. So, I would like to apologize to all the authors of fics I've read in the past for not commenting. And to promise to make a greater effort to comment on the fics I read from now on.
