so i cut myself with a potato peeler last night, a fairly shallow cut maybe a couple millimeters in diameter, which should be no big deal, except 10 hours later it's still bleeding rather steadily, like it's soaked through about 4 paper towels and 2 bandaids and hurts like a bitch. i took one medium-sized dose of aspirin (which i almost never take) two days ago and haven't eaten a whole lot due to having the stomach flu and am wondering if these things are preventing my blood from clotting properly. I've been poking around the internet to see if this was a common problem, and found this, in answer to someone on a forum with a similarly cut finger:
"I stabbed myself in the head once when I was younger trying to open a Gallon of Milk with a knife. I still remember it. I woke up late in the evening and I wanted some milk, so I went and got a gallon out of the fridge.
I wasn't old enough to pull off the safety-tab, so I got a knife. As I was digging into the tip of the gallon of milk, I tried prying it off and *pop* goes the knife, out of the tab and into my forehead.
I wasn't awake enough to understand what I had just done, so I put the knife in the sink, the milk in the fridge and I went back to bed. I woke up the next morning with blood on my pillow and a scabbing-over slit in my forhead.
Moral of the story, don't drink milk."
Wha...?? How is this *at all* relevant to the issue at hand???
I love the internet.
anyways, if anyone has any advice i'm happy to hear it. i'm sure the bleeding'll stop sooner or later, and it's not as if i'm losing copious amounts of blood, but i'd like it to be sooner rather than later.
