Haven't looked at this in A-G-E-S! There is so much to say but I shall record only the important points:

Eliot:

Bad news first: Our cat, Eliot, disappeared two weeks ago. We think she belonged to the neighbours across the road, but one afternoon she just waltzed into our lives and has visited us everyday since. She even started sleeping over when it got colder and was always at the gate when we got home from work, ready to welcome us back. I don't think the owners have suddenly started locking her up as they never seemed particularly bothered about her before. I think that either she was stolen, or, because she is such a lovely, friendly little cat, some lonely old lady has decided to keep her and is not letting her go. I really hope she visits again as I miss her so much!

Work:
Very hard at the moment. And very busy. I am managing two graduates and am so amazed at how sharp they are! I can't ever remember being that good at their age! Plus my manager has given me a monsterous project to get finished. I have been shit busy all week trying to get the damn thing completed. Still not right. I am very disappointed with the my department overall actually. There is no real support for any of the developers and I've found that if you have a problem, the only way to solve anything is to blunder on through on your own until you finally hit the jackpot. Absolutely shocking imo.

The new job has taken some getting used to. They seem rather anal about alot of things. Not the happy-go-lucky environment I come from.

Holiday:
Flying back to South Africa on friday for 2 weeks. I am not looking forward to the flight(13 hours), but will be happy to see some sun. That's if I can get the project finished on time. The boss insinuated something about me not going on holiday if I don't finish. Fat chance of that my friend. If he wants the project finished then he'll have to spend lots of time supporting me tomorrow.

Crim:
Rushed to class tonight only to find 7 bored souls slobbering over handouts whilst the lecturer read various passages from "The esblishment of policing in Britain 1829-56". This is definitely the most uninteresting topic in the course so far. Am now feeling quite glad that I am missing next weeks' session, which is a continuation. Am also rather annoyed that I missed the Bill Bailey bonanza for this. But for every black cloud, there is a silver lining - we are going to see Jerry Springer tomorrow (if I finish my work), which I believe is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-E-S!!
