It seemed like a lifetime since he had been back to Naboo. And yet at the same time, it felt like it was only yesterday that he had been away. There was something calming about the planet, lying in the meadow underneath the clouds back before the war had actually begun, simply talking about the little things about their lives. It was something that he had missed more than anything, and being with Padmè only made it better, in truth.
Just her being there at least made it worth everything. That smile, that laugh, that sparkle that came into her eyes - he never failed to be enchanted by Padmè and here...here it was never more true.
Tomorrow, he would no doubt have to be called back to war. To fight the Separatists again. Padmè would have to no doubt be called back to the Senate, if only for the sake of duty. But no matter what happened, they would be there for one another, no matter what.
And they could always have this place to themselves, this paradise. This little corner of the universe to call their own, that they could go to when they simply couldn’t take it anymore.
Because in more ways than one, Naboo was home for Anakin. And he doubted he would have it any other way.
