I'd really love to see an A Song of Ice and Fire AU.
Harry comes from a really well-established house. His father's the hand of the king. He's always been different, more girly than not, but he's his parents' only son. The only reason he's not torn apart in such a place as King's Landing is his extreme cleverness and cunning.
On his fourteenth nameday, they get him a squire, who is actually older than him. The boy, Louis, comes from a pretty well-off, albeit minor, house. He's only just left because he's rather immature for his age, but his family set it up in hopes to set him up with Harry's older sister, Gemma.
Harry's reluctant at first. He's bratty and bitchy and just because his father is lord hand doesn't really give him any right but he acts like it does anyway. He treats Louis like dirt and the boy takes it at first, but then Harry learns that Louis can be just as snarky. Their fights turn to playful banter and Louis sees just how cheeky Harry really is. Harry falls for Louis, gayness ensues, etc.
Everything is perfect, except they get caught, and this is the final straw for Harry's family. His dad thinks that he must be a bastard, his son would never shame his family like that. He leaves Harry's mum with an ultimatum, and she ultimately accepts the path in which Harry will have to leave, else she and Gemma would have to go as well.
Harry's left on the street, has to become a whore, and he's popular with men gay and straight alike. He makes good money but he mostly misses Louis, because he really loves the boy.
You can choose what happens to Louis. Maybe he doesn't have it nearly as bad, albeit a few jokes from fellow squires/knights here and there. He'd obviously get let go, but he's a strong chap, so he could merely squire for someone else.
Whether he goes after Harry or thinks maybe it's best to stay away is up to you. Though I would love Harry to be hopeless in love and desperate for his attention either way.
Bonus points for Niall the farmer, Zayn the Prince, and Liam the grand maester's apprentice.
I would especially love it if Liam is Harry's only friend in King's Landing and treats him as a little brother. Maybe he knew about Louis and Harry all along, and he was the only person Harry could confide in. He warned him and told him that it was a bad idea, but Harry naturally didn't listen. He loves Harry but he hates how things turned out, and he just can't understand what the appeal in another male is.
Then Harry meets Niall when he's forced out on his own, and Niall becomes his new one-and-only. Niall acts like Liam except Niall completely understands and confides that he has a crush of his own. Someone that Harry can totally hook him up with. Niam ensues.
Though I don't personally ship Ziam, I could also see Liam maybe innuendos to Liam and Liam getting all flustered and fidgety, nervous someone heard. Stuff like that.
I DON'T KNOW. This should not be as long as it is, but meh! These are mere suggestions. I'd be happy with anything really. :)
