I will be taking a much needed vacation in March. An actual vacation where I go somewhere and don't just sit in my house and not work.

I am looking for suggestions, ideas, thoughts, etc..
My vacation will be from March 14th through March 22nd
The reason for these dates is that this is when my Son is on Spring Break so he can go stay with his mother, thus freeing my up.
The bad thing about this particular time is most beaches are out. I don't know that I would blend in that well with all the spring breakers, me being a 44 year old Father. I don't want to be the old perv at spring break.
So, I am not sure what to do or where to go. I looked at cruises but, once again, bad timing. The prices almost triple from the last week in February to the middle of March. I think it is the most expensive time to go on a cruise.
Ideally I would love to go to Hawaii but not sure I could swing that financially unless someone happens to have a little place on the beach they could let me stay at cheap!
Anyway, I am open to suggestions. I don't have to leave on the 14th and I don't have to be gone until the 22nd, I just cannot leave until the 14th and have to be back by the 22nd.
This will be my second vacation where I don't stay at my home in 16 years so I am pretty excited. AND, things are going well enough at my job where it looks like I can afford to GO on vacation. After a horrific 14 months, where I got fired, was unemployed from Oct of 2007 to February 2008, then got a job but it is a job where I get paid a draw, so, if I don't do enough business then I ONLY receive my draw, which is $2,000 gross which is not enough to pay all my bills. So, since February there has been 1 month where I earned enough so I got paid more than my $2,000 draw, the rest of the months, $2,000. Well, when you are making less $$$ that what your monthly debt is problems occur. It was a horrible Thanksgiving and a worse Christmas BUT things are finally coming togethe. I had the best December of any Loan Officer in the office and My washout check for the month which I will receive in about a week will be the biggest check I have ever received in my life. YEEHAW, it actually will not even get me caught up but ALMOST. Then with Tax returns around the corner and then my February wash out check for Januarys earnings, I think I will have enough so that I can take a vacation and even keep a little in the bank.
So, yeah, that is what is going on
