Exactly one week before today, approximately 7oz of Sour Neon Worms, "Naturally and Artificially Flavored Fruit Gummies," put me into sugar shock 15 minutes post-consumption. I remember it was Monday because I felt too sick and paralyzed on my bedroom floor to go watch a movie for FHE with my ward...or respond to my roommate in coherent English for that matter.
Right now I am once again eating sour worms. Why? Because they're delicious, and it's Sourest Day! It was either the gummy worms or a sour attitude to celebrate. I went with the worms. Don't worry, I limited my ounceage.
Today is also XTERRA World Championship Day. From the website, "The 2010 XTERRA America Tour is comprised of 65 races in 35 states." They've had races all over the United States, and yesterday it all culminated in Maui, Hawaii for the ultimate triathalon showdown.
In first place, congratulations Conrad Stoltz from South Africa.
In five hundred and first place, and last to finish, but he did finish-- congratulations Rusty Nall from Hawaii. Rusty Nall? Really? Come on Mom and Dad--when naming your children, please consider what other phrases their name will sound like.
Ron Hill placed first in his 70+ category. He was the only one in it, but alright man, you're over 70! He beat a bunch of people in their 20's and 30's. I hope I'm that awesome when I'm old.
I know you might be a little disappointed that you missed the XTERRA World championship, but there's always next year to support it. Or if you're like Rich Costello, you can start now and prepare a way to fund raise for next years' event. Rich spent a year growing out his beard and is now having people donate and vote whether to "Shave it or Save it." If "Shave it" wins, they will shave off the beard during the awards ceremony, and either way give all the money to the Challenged Athlete Foundation. "We hope to raise over $5,000 through Rich's beard." says XTERRA.
haha. I hope save it wins, so he'll be all set up for the two year beard rematch.
