#01 - Package: As he slid the container of plutonium under the table, he morbidly wondered how long it would take for the Libyans to discover they’d been had the whole time…
#02 - Obscure: Magnifying glass in hand, he examined the photograph of Biff more closely, gasping at the sight of Grays Sports Almanac in his pocket; His mind swiftly deducing what must have happened, he sighed: “Marty is not going to like this at all...”
#03 - Skeleton: He’d said it was going to be hard to wait 30 years just to talk about what happened over the course of one week, but what would be even harder would be not accidentally telling him about the shock he’d received after Marty left…
#04 - Nurse: He looked blearily up at his caretaker, trying to make out facial features, age, anything, and when that failed, he spoke the first name that came to mind: “Marty?”
#05 - Domino: The more he thought about what Marty had done that day, the more it scared him; The chain of events from the simple act of preventing teenage George McFly from being hit by the car had come too close to wiping the kid out of existence, and, though the damage had been repaired, it still terrified him about how close things had been.
#06 - Thaw: “Of course it’s cold; it’s been through some sort of vacuum. Even a brief exposure to that low a temperature could really be bad to a person”, he thought as his mouth reported that fact to Marty in the words “It’s cold, damn cold.”
#07 - Waves: Another surge of dizziness swept over him, but he shook it off as he continued down the hall, apparently unnoticed by others; “It's to be expected”, the voice in his head “said”, “After all, you very nearly died...”
#08 - Burglar: On the plus side, his reputation as an eccentric, nay, insane scientist meant less people attempted to steal from you; However this, in comparison with all the cons of such a life, didn’t amount to much…
#09 - Frame: Tracing the metal train inlay, he nodded at the salesman: “Yes, this is the one.”
#10 - Carpet: As he followed the girl, he took in their surroundings, not least the floor; “This place seems rather lavishly decorated for a government-funded safe house...” he commented.
#11 - Insect: Although he'd waited patiently for 30 years to finally experience the first time travel experiment (and subsequently play possum when the Libyans attacked as so not to create a paradox), it didn't mean that there weren't certain buzzing annoyances in his life (“Damned musca domestica”, he hissed, waving the swatter threateningly)...
#12 - Mentor: “All right, all right”, Doc groaned from where he lay after finding himself thrown to the ground for the fifth time, “perhaps some sort of instruction in this area would be useful…”
#13 - Spirit: There was a moment of silence as Doc’s old determination seemed to return; “Right” he said grimly, “let’s get going!”
#14 - Wax: “He’ll never get that second coat done, will he?” he asked, smirking over at Marty; “Well, maybe when hell freezes over” the teen remarked, sharing the grin.
#15 - Trash: Quickly, he darted over to the metal can, pulling out what he needed as he figured out how to best explain the situation to Marty without revealing too much about what the future held in store for him.
#16 - Womb: As Clara took the crying newborn into her arms, Doc sank into a chair, willing himself to not pass out from the pain; Great Scott, that was painful, he thought, vowing to learn mind-blocking spells as soon as he could.
#17 - Burn: As the almanac turned to ash and cinders in the bucket on the ground below, Doc smiled as the newspaper heading changed from Emmett Brown Committed to Emmett Brown Commended; All was right with the world now.
#18 - Flash: “Time machine?” he asked, half himself and half the strange boy, touching the plaster on his forehead as he recalled the vision of the flux capacitor, “I didn’t build any time machine…”
#19 - Anima: There were few people that he opened up to now: Marty, Clara, and James; The first because he was the scientist’s first true friend, the second because she loved him for what he was, and the third because they were brothers, no matter what happened.
#20 - Gamble: “Have you ever considered what it'd be like to play strip poker against someone with my level of IQ?” he'd asked Marty one day and earning a confused look in response; “Pray you never do”, he'd finished, a knowing grin on his face.
#21 - Statue: Gasping briefly, he froze, sincerely hoping that his 1955 self didn’t recognize him; “Who, me?” he muttered gruffly in an attempt to disguise his voice.
#22 - Perfume: So this is what it’s like to be truly in love, he mused as he smelled the wildflower’s fragrance once more…
#23 - Wine: Without another word, the shot of whiskey had been downed before Chester could stop him, and before he could even say anything more, the effects of the alcohol hit like the metaphorical ton of bricks, knocking him unconscious.
#24 - Reflection: He approached the mirror, eyes wide and willing himself not to scream or faint (or both) as he traced his again-blonde hair…
#25 - Take: He paused as the man on the bicycle quickly pedaled away; For some reason, the man’s voice sounded strangely familiar…
#26 - Magic: “No”, he insisted, “absolutely not. I mean, there's no logical way for what you're saying to be true. It's not possible... is it?”
#27 - Fragment: “No wonder this circuit failed”, he commented, holding the chip up for Marty’s inspection, “it says “Made in Japan”.”
#28 - Cats and Dogs: “You know, you could have warned us it was going to be pouring, James”, he grumbled as he got the umbrella out of the trunk.
#29 - Hum: The tune is unfamiliar to anyone who would listen; But he knows the song from the future, and as soon as he is alone, he begins actually singing the lyrics - I never really feel quite right and I don’t know why; All I know is something’s wrong; Every time I look at you, you seem so alive…
#30 - Flinch: Emmett experimentally touched the knife wound, hand pulling away at the sob of pain from his brother; James, what in the name of Sir Isaac H. Newton has Father done to you…
#31 - Rush: As his injured younger brother staggered out of the shadows, he darted forward, catching him before he could fall to the ground; Slowly, cajoling and chastising him, he led him inside.
#32 - Jester: Thirty years later, he only fully realized how much he missed trading jibes with his brother after meeting him again back in 1955…
#33 - Haven: The older man was his final sanctuary, Marty realized, because it was clear he couldn’t rely on his weak-willed father to help him move forward in life.
#34 - Dusk: He smiled to himself as the stars began appearing in the night sky, unaware of the events fate had planned for he and his brother.
#35 - Chord: As he landed on the organ, he detachedly noted the eerie sounds it produced; Appropriate, considering the sudden shocking reappearance of Marty.
#36 - Indulgence: “Suddenly the future looks a whole lot better”, he chuckled, holding up the Playboy magazine he’d discovered in his future self’s suitcase.
#37 - Freezer: “There’s also some ice cream, too. Lorraine usually prefers Neapolitan or something of that variety”, he said, relenting to James’ curious examination of the fridge.
#38 - Passage: When he was ten, a lot of people believed he could have been college-bound, though a lot of people opposed this on the belief that it was just too abnormal for their tastes (the foremost opposition being his own father)…
#39 - Coast: For the moment, he let himself enjoy the presence of his brother, glad to see him alive and well once more…
#40 - Keepsake: “This…” He paused, turning the piece of metal over; “This is a piece of metal from the DeLorean!”
#41 - Morbid: “Marty… Did I actually die back there?”
#42 - Shipwreck: Amazing that all this… junk used to comprise the penultimate creation by an unknown great, Ratigan mused as he surveyed the parts of the totaled DeLorean; Now it’s been reduced to this…
#43 - Socks: As he moved towards the recorder, he only momentarily noticed that, for some strange reason, his feet were bare, and that fact was swiftly lost on him as he began to speak.
#44 - Sand: Doc sighed as he began walking through the desert towards Hill Valley circa 1885; It was going to be a long walk…
#45 - Coin: “Well, now what?” Marty asked as the quarter stayed perfectly vertical; “Beats the shit out of me”, Doc replied, shrugging.
#46 - Guile: He didn’t believe in (and often despised) unnecessary or evil deception; that was for people like Biff (though Doc suspected the Tannen didn’t have the brainpower to conceive anything on the scale Boddy had).
#47 - Eyelash: Blinking in surprise, he gazed wide-eyed at the younger man with the brown hair and the wire-framed glasses: “…James?”
#48 - Drive: Turnabout is fair play, he thought as he backed out of the McFly driveway; At least Marty will know I’m coming this time around…
#49 - Net: As the three members of Mad Dog Tannen’s gang held him back, he mentally cursed two people: Mad Dog for threatening Clara and himself for daring to get her involved, despite the risks...
#50 - Destination: “Roads?” he asked, grinning, “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”
