Sweet Valley High #31: Taking Sides

Feb 02, 2008 00:08

Wee. I'm so excited. I orders Taking Sides online and it came today. It's all pretty and new looking. All my old Sweet Valley novels have the spines broken and yellowed pages. This one looks like its never been opened. I'm gonna crack it though because that's how much I love you, 1bruce1.

Anyway, I can't find a good picture of the cover online. Found!Read more... )

This might not be the right place to ask questions, but most of you guys seem to know what's happened in the series better than I do.

I never read the Elizabeth sextology (?), and I was wondering - does Elizabeth ever get back with Todd? Because they are totally my OTP, and I'm so sick of them breaking up.

Do you mean the Elizabeth series? If so, then no, she doesn't.

There's a Secret Diary book that takes place during the SVU years where she and Todd both end up being in the same wedding - something about her cousin marrying his cousin, I can't remember now - and they start acting like they're going to get back together. Then they realize it's just an automatic reaction and while they're fond of each other, they're not in love anymore. Of course Liz realizes this when she and Todd are getting ready to do the Big Deed, and makes Todd realize it as well.

Poor sexually frustrated Todd. It makes me want to write a story where they get it on, just so he gets some action from her finally. ;)

And I'm with you. As much of a dick as Todd was to her in the SVU series, he eventually saw the error of his ways and made things right with her. They're my big OTP of the series, followed closely by Winston/Denise.

What... ugh, that's horrible, can I just ignore the Elizabeth series and that diary and just pretend that they got back together?

“I really do have an outstanding social life."
Man, I wish I was Lila.

She suggested the movie Wuthering Heights and he agreed. Jessica hated it, of course. It was in black and white!

Pah! Isn't Jessica's favourite movie supposed to be Casablanca? So much for that. I bet she just made it up to sound sophisticated.

A home-cooked dinner with Mr. Collins

:P It goes without saying that that is so awesomely inappropriate. I wonder what he made? Baked way-too-invested-in-students'-non-academic-lives with a side of if-you're-nasty? And for dessert, what-do-he-and-Elizabeth-REALLY-do-after-hours-in-the-Oracle-office souffle?
Another great, witty recap. Thanks for the read.

I hadn't thought about it. But I bet he cooked naked except for a "Kiss the Cook Apron".

=D You know, I think there actually was some occasion where ol' Ned Wakefield had on a "Kiss the Cook" apron in SVH. I wish I could recall the exact book, but I'm pretty sure it happened.

Awesome recap!

I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to have a home-cooked dinner with Mr. Collins. *winks naughtily*

And way to go Jeffrey for calling Liz on her shenanigans!

I think one of the ghost writers must not have liked Todd, and she did away with him and created Jeffrey. I imagine a team of ghost writers sitting around arguing about the merits of each until Francine comes in with a flourish and declares, "I want more punching!" And then disappears into the night.

I never read any interviews with Francine until just now when I looked her up on the Sweet Valley website. She doesn't look nearly as evil as I picture her.

Although she says her favorite book is "When Love Dies" so maybe she gets her ya-yas out of killing characters off. She probably wanted to off Todd in Vermont (where no one can hear you scream).
