Our community's Watched By list recently broke 400 members, so I just wanted to say welcome to
1bruce1 ! Thanks for joining up, and thanks as well to everyone who's written recaps and comments. You all are hilarious.
Remember, you can always see a running list of which books have been recapped on our profile page, if you'd like to read the recaps in number order. Also, we have a request post where you can ask for books you'd like to see written up. If you have a bunch of Sweet Valley books and can't decide which one to recap, the request post could help you narrow it down. It's completely okay if we have more than one recap of a book. We all know there's more than enough mockable material to go around. All members can make and reply to posts, so jump in anytime.

I just realized that, if I'm asking people to tell how they found the community, I should probably tell how I started it! It happened in an email conversation with tropes , who's one of my best friends.
Me: Did you read Sweet Valley High when you were little? Remind me. Or Babysitters Club?
Josie: I read Sweet Valley Twins and BSC yeah. Not High though.
Me: Because I was thinking, you know what would be a hilarious way to completely misspend the summer before my wedding? Doing a reread of Sweet Valley High - the ones I bought on ebay that one time, anyway, which is the first hundred or so - and posting reactions to my LJ like the BSC blogger at claudiasroom.blogspot.com, a website I am in LOVE with. She read BSC when she was little and loved them, of course, but now she's our age and rereading, posting her bitchy commentary. It's awesome.
Josie: THAT IS THE BEST IDEA EVER.
Me: We need to make a community, then. Or a new LJ. What should we call it?
Josie: enidbitit.livejournal.com? Didn't she? Who killed herself with the drugs?
Me: Regina killed herself with drugs. I gave a copy of that book - it was a first edition! - to my friend for Christmas because one of her students got caught with drugs. I told her she should put it in her classroom library so her students could be scared straight by the traumatic death of Regina Morrow, who fell in with a Bad Crowd after that bitch Amy Sutton stole Bruce Patman from her, and then Bruce and Elizabeth cried all over each other in the emergency room and Jessica was just, like, snapping her gum and going, "So?"
Enid went to college and changed her name to Alex and became an alcoholic and then slept with Todd. Reginabitit?
Josie: Alexorenid?
Me: Good! Or maybe 1Bruce1, since that was his license plate? And..excuse me...I think I have to go cut up my grownup card.
Josie: Bet it's taken.
Me: I just checked and it's not! Okay, I'm creating it. What should the title be? What about, "Elizabeth and Jessica are better than you."
Josie: YES.
Me: I'll start the first book tonight, then. Hee!
