Sweet Valley Twins #12 Keeping Secrets

Nov 27, 2007 09:48

The actual "secret" between Ned and the Wakefield's and the conflict that results from it are really lame... which I guess is a good thing, because a dad going to these extreme lengths to keep something quiet with his pre-teen daughters... even leaving out his son in the process... is really kind of creepy.

But before the Wakefield twins know just ( Read more... )

as that was my first recap, could somebody help me so that a person is not seeing an entire recap on the board all at once?

Select the text you want to cut, highlight it, and press the button that looks like a zigzag (comes up as LJ cut when you hover over it). When the box appears, write what text you want to show as the cut text (like, ' a secret language, ho hum') or whatever, and press ok. The text you selected should be shown as in a grey box. Then save.

Put the wors < lj-cut text="Keep Reading..." > (without the spaces between the brackets) where you want to cut the entry.

ha! this is awesome, great job. i think this book has to have the dumbest plot in all the sweet valley books. wouldn't you expect the unicorns to think the whole made up language thing was really immature? and amy to be less...incredibly bitchy?

also i loved this one part from when the twins were speculating about what the secret might be:
"Maybe he's going to tell us that we have another twin...that we're really triplets!" [Jessica] said, her blue-green eyes growing wide.
Elizabeth burst out laughing, remembering the time she and her sister had pretended to have a triplet named Jennifer to play a joke on their friend Brooke Dennis.
....

sorry, i literally just finished reading this one so it's really fresh in my mind. great recap!

Add an lj cut at the start and the end.
to start, use <*lj-cut text="write something here">
at the end, put <*/lj-cut>
without the asterisks, of course.
Hope that helps!

Cool recap, by the way. I remember this book, and always thought it was mean they left Steven out. Mostly coz I have two little sisters and I'd hate it if my dad taught them a language and left me out!

Man. The early SVT books really blew - everyone acts like a ten-year-old in them!

Unless Steven and Ned have their own Secret
My first thought was, "NAMBLA?" D:

Yeah, and the way they're written is so different to the later ones as well. I'm in the middle of recapping Super Chiller # 2: The Ghost in the Graveyard, and the style of writing makes the twins seem about 10 or so.
