Thanks for the Recap :-) ez_oz June 7 2007, 00:40:50 UTC
Wow, this book really was crap. No fake attempted rapes. No Liz crying. Does nothing to dispel the stereotype that American teens know nothing about the world at large ;-)

Thanks for the reminder of how shoddy this novel was, and have a lovely day! :-)

I know! Is it too much to ask for an attempted rape? Ah well. ;)

And you're welcome! Thanks for reading. :D

Well, this is 11 year old girls. I don't think there are any attempted rapes in the SVT series.

What year were these books and tapes made in? Because France totally still has a queen.
Hah. The Twins got the phrase book from the American Civil War period. Either that or this series is just really long.

I actually kind of love Steven for not giving a shit about his missing sisters.

Yeah, I was ragging on him a bit but his parts were actually really funny. I felt bad for him at the end because he was trying to save them at the Eiffel Tower but pulled a muscle on the stairs and then everyone forgot about him! Poor guy. XD

Oh, Steven. He's always being forgotten. That's what happens when you have two blonde sisters that are perfect size sixes!

ha... that reminds me of my own exchange in France. Except that I was originally meant to stay with this older woman, but she'd just moved into a new place and it wasn't finished and so for the first part of my stay I was sent to live with some of her relatives instead. Who--no joke--lived in medieval abbey on an island. It was great. It was a huge castle-like house with the original Gothic stones and everything inside, with a temporarily closed-off wing and all, and they had a maid who I was told to ask for whatever I wanted, and the only bad thing was that it was very drafty in the upper floors, but I had a heater. AND the bridge that led to the island was a cruising place for no-strings-attached sex at night. (Under the bridge, technically ( ... )

Oh wow. That's crazy! You totally should write a story about that.

Whoa! It sounds like an SVH story, all right. How come I never knew about this part of your history? :P

Well, he got more drama in SVU...

... I guess that's not really 'love', though, more' angst'.

But yeah. He was cool. And kind of more... normal than his batty sisters.

I don't know where Jess got her phrase book, Speak French Just as a Native Might, because it contains the phrases "He is not dead yet"

Hmmm. A phrase book for would-be murders, perhaps? And "Speak French Just as a Native Might"? For some reason, that title sort of screams 'online translator' at me.
