Sweet Valley High Super Thriller, Deadly Summer

Oct 31, 2007 11:30

I think this Super Thriller is my favorite of all, at least out of the books where the twins were newspaper interns. There's a little bit of everything here -- mad bombers, Bruce & Liz... there's even a Wakefield doppelgänger! (Sort of.)

Lila wanted Jeffrey??! WTF. He's way too boring for her.

I love Liz/Bruce.

It all goes back to #31, Taking Sides, when Jeffrey was new. But who knows why she STILL wants him in this book!

Wow, Bruce was kind of awesome in this. What a shame this incident is never mentioned again XD

Melanie -- get this -- looked just like Elizabeth!

*facepalm*

I know ... this was always my favorite "Bruce" book. I admit I thought his going along with the "dying" hoax was kind if hilarious.

How many flings between hating did Bruce and Liz actually have??

And I cannot hear Goldilocks as a nickname without thinking of Spike and Buffy, sorry Bruce!

Hee, Bruce sounds like a lot of fun in this book. At least he's not weeping or attempting to rape somebody.

Hey, cool recap =)

Hah, the ouija board was a trend? Seriously?

Hehe Jess and "y'all", wtf. You're not black or Southern, Jess.

Lol, Bruce dying??? That's kind of an awful thing to make someone believe, but it's completely hilarious that they predict Liz will fall in love with him. Cos Liz loves a charity case.

Dana Larson introduces the show by saying "This is a little gig we do each summer." They're a bunch of 16-year-olds, just how many summers have they been together? (Oh yeah ... time warp!)
Lol and agreed. The kids at SVH are always making comments like that, as if they're world-weary 35 year olds or something.

Why does the bomber want revenge on Melanie? Because he kidnapped her? Yeah, that's a good reason. I mean I'm guessing it's because she didn't love him back or whatever, but damn, I hate psychos.

The whole bomb sequence reminded me of that arson/John Pfiefer trilogy in late SVH.

WHAT THE FUCK? Why did Bruce grab the bomb? Did he suddenly turn all selfless? That was really unexpected.

Thanks for the entertaining

Redman wanted revenge on Melanie because she was mean to him and "ridiculed" him.

Glad you liked the recap.:-)
