SVJH #24: Clueless

Is it just me, or does Liz on the cover look like she's thoroughly had it with Blue's harrassment and is about a second away from kicking him in the head? That would have been awesome. Too bad nothing like that actually happens in the book. Without Todd in this series, there's a distinct lack of punching.

Also, I'd like to note that it seems at ( Read more... )

What happened to TBT in these books?

TBT doesn't really feature in this series =S When Jess and Liz got switched from Sweet Valley Middle School to Sweet Valley Junior High, they left most of their old friends (including TBT and Lila) behind. I know TBT is in SVJH #4 "The Cool Crowd" (the book where the twins have a big house party when their parents are away) but I'm not sure if he shows up after that. In "The Cool Crowd" TBT acts like a dumb jock. That's all I know...

These books are such a blatant excuse to take the twins and place them with "exciting" new characters who are really rehashed versions of the old characters. Which... kind of makes me wonder what the point is...

Hee! It would actually have been more interesting if they wanted a chick to sing or something, rather than to stand in the back and play bass.

I think I missed something because all I want to know is why this kid is named Blue. XD

Hee! Me too! I spend the whole recap wondering what that could be short for.

And what is with these kids and secret surfing contests? Who sponsors all these contests?

Perhaps Bluford? And if I were named that, I'd totally go by Blue too.

Sweet Valley's Secret Surfing Society, the SVSSS. I bet one of the twins told the mayor to set it up or something. Because when the twins want you to do something, you totally have to do it.

I have no idea, actually. They never say anything about his real name, but I guess the ghostwriters felt it was an appropriate name for a 14-year-old surfer dude? Maybe? I don't know, I guess he was introduced several books earlier, but I don't have any of the in between ones. Seriously hoping someone else does, though, because I want to know where this Blue kid came from and why he's named after a colour.

... I can't believe they did the surfing plotline AGAIN *facepalm*

And yeah, I want to know why he's called Blue as well.

I couldn't believe how close it was to the other surfing plotline. Although at least this time Elizabeth wasn't trying to keep it a huge secret.
