I kinda think Elizabeth going soup-kitchen-yay adds the the ludicrous factor. She's twelve years old, for crying out loud!

Great recap, totally inplausible plot - as if there are poor people in SV! (apart from the homeless family in Christmas without Elizabeth) :-p
