Amy's True Love was published in 1991, the year which saw the first performance of Angels in America, the death of Freddy Mercury, the legalisation of sodomy in Hong Kong, and the first use of the red ribbon to symbolise the fight against HIV and AIDS. Haha, I love the scenes when Jessica and her cheerleader friends are eating lunch in the cafeteria. I seem to remember a book, don't remember the title, where one of the characters is thinking, "Even the way she peels a grape before she eats it is annoying." Ha!

I vaguely remember that as well. The cafeteria scenes are generally gold because there's next to no angst in them.

I feel like it might have been Heather Mallone eating grapes - or did she not eat?

Wasn't she the one who was baby-talking Aaron because he was "angway" about his parents' divorce or something? And she made her own clothes?

Yeah! I remember that! Elizabeth (I'm pretty sure, anyway) was mocking someone because they baby-talked their boyfriend all the time and of course she was horribly embarrassed when guess who walked up behind her while she was doing it. :P

Elizabeth making fun of someone? I have to read this. Any thoughts to what book it might've been? ^_^

The name of the book is Out of Control. I forget what book number it is but it's during the time when Liz is still dating Jeffrey. Aaron Dallas' parents are getting divorced and he's all angsty. His girlfriend, Heather Sanford, talks baby talk to him because apparently it's the only thing that calms him down. Liz makes fun of her at Jessica's Tofu Glow party (remember Tofu Glow??!) and even Jessica is shocked that Liz is acting so catty. What a fun book that was! lol

Oh god, Tofu Glow! It's really coming back to me now. :)

That was that stuff Jessica got suckered into Amway-style-reselling, wasn't it? And daddy dearest ended up having to save her bacon on that one.

it's book 35 with Heather Sanford ... Heather Mallone is that cheerleader who puts them on the rice and veggie diet in those cheerleader books.
