Oh man, this community is awesome! It takes me back to when I first came to the states and my older, English-speaking cousin would recap these to me in melodramatic soap-opera fashion, and I thought it was all so glamorous.

After I could read them myself, I never felt the books lived up to her narrations of them, but this snark sure does.

Do people here have any of the middle-school ones as well? Could someone please, please do that one middle-school Christmas one where J&E got matching clown/harlequinn dolls that somehow transported them to a magical country? I've wanted to find that one for ages because it was so trippy and unusual, and as far as I remembered, surprisingly good in a Sweet Valley Twins Do Narnia kind of way.

Hi and welcome! I'm so glad you like this community - we have lots of fun writing the reviews, so it's great to that people enjoy reading them.

Unfortunately I don't own any of the Sweet Valley Twins myself, but I know that others do, so you could try writing a post to the community requesting the review - it's not always comments are noticed by anybody other than the original poster, so you're probably better of making the request public ;-)

I have that one! I'll do it next, as soon as I've written up the SVH one about beautiful yet treacherous Suzanne Devlin.

Ah, you just stopped me from making a request post. :-) Thank you!

Excellent! I haven't read it myself but anything that involves SVT Do Narnia has got to be good :-)

I think that one might actually stand up to a grown up re-reading, but am not sure. I really really loved it as a child though (except the end). I even got my sister a harlequinn doll!

I live in Denmark, and unfortunately Sweet Valley never made it here :-( However, they were my way of learning how to read English when I lived in NZ in 1990 so I have a few from back then.

Mine too! I read most of these types of books during my transitional period between syllable books and real books. :-D
