Sweet Valley High: Episode One
Ihatewheat at the DairiBurger website (also a guilty pleasure per MSNBC) posted a link to the Sweet Valley High series's first episode on YouTube. I thought some of you might not have experienced the joy of the series, so here it is.
Maybe if we ever run out of books (ha!) we can recap the show. Because there is a lot to snark about.
Thoughts:
I do kind of like the theme song. It's cheery and upbeat, even if they just came up with one verse and then gave up and decided to repeat “Sweet Valley High” over and over until all the names had been listed.
Lila looks nothing like Lila and is instead channeling that mean girl from “Clueless”
Some girl tells Jessica she voted for Liz. This is only noteworthy because this girl is Kristin Davis from Sex and the City. She's probably the only SVH actor whose career didn't peek with this show. Although, Brittany Daniel was in White Chicks...
Why would Liz wear that sweater all the time? (To a dance? Really?) Is there a tiny draft that only Liz can feel? It appears she's also wearing boots with her dress. The 1990s. I don't know what to say about them.
Who decided to turn Enid from an intelligent, supportive friend into a complete goofball? I object.
How lame that we don't get to see the pool-pushing. That would've been the best part.
What's the verdict? Was this a fake attempted rape or a real attempted rape?
