Steven tells Jess that he always saw her with the doll and just acted out whatever she was doing. Even when she had the doll under the table, he could see her moving her hands around, and due to the magic of needing to wrap this book up in a timely fashion, he always correctly guessed what she was doing to the doll.

I knew that would happen, too. Just how many times have the Sweet Valley books pulled the "I knew what you were doing the whole time and played along, even when it was technically impossible to do so" trick, anyway? Lazy ass writers.

And Jessica got a C+ in spite of failing entirely to complete the assignment? I think she must have humiliating photographs of the Hairnet. Hey, maybe the Wakefields are blackmailing the whole town. It would explain how everything always falls conveniently into their laps. Hmm. ;)

I love any book that involves Steven and Jessica. And Aaron Dallas just makes it that much better! However, the plot here is made of so much fail, hah.

“’What if I actually kill Steven?’ she couldn’t help worrying. ‘Mom and Dad would be so mad.’” Hahaha. I love that this is what she worries about.

Hahahaha.

That front cover is hilarious. Steven always looks mildly deformed on his covers, and Jess is wearing ankle-swingers to show off her purple Unicorn-approved sox to the world. Thanks for recapping this, can't remember if it's one I read or not. It sounds even funnier to me because I was picturing the following every time I read the words (letters) 'G.I...': http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ-ckU_D1fg

Ah, gotta love a perfectly timed Halloween recap! And I'm pretty sure you're right about Todd's newfound love of cooking vanishing after this book.
