I always thought "Amanda Howard" = Agatha Christie. Damn! I wanted Liz to pretend to be Poirot or Marple. But I guess it's kinda against SV rules to want to be like someone unattractive, or God forbid, old.

While I agree that Nancy would kick ass in any SV mystery, my money is on Jane Marple to totally be like 'Sh!t - f*** crime fighting - I could run this two-horse town with one hand tied behind my back with an embroidered handkerchief!.' I see her actually winding up as Governor of the whole state of California, and proclaiming its independence from the rest of the US. Give me the Marplator! And it goes without sayin' that Poirot wouldn't even waste spit on Sweet Valley.

I sooooo remember this book. During the hanging upside down thing Jessica was told she looked like a pig and during the hot dog competition they had all sorts of crazy dogs they ate, like a dogsled and dog-eat-dog. And Lila or someone got to wear a light blue silk Chinese dress. My memory is so weird.

Yep! They had stupid names for the dogs. There was Fire House Dog and everything. Lila did wear the Chinese dress.

And Janet work a cowgirl costume with a blonde wig, and Kimberly was stuck picking second-to-last and had to dress up as a fluffy chicken!

Thank god I got that out of my system. I'm sure that bit of information had replaced something useful in my junior-high memory, like long division or state capitals.

Is the Nancy Drew community fairy new? I love Nancy, but boy are those books endlessly snarkable.
