OT: Tsk! Other twins are's stealings from Jessica and Elizabeth!
Apologies for the OTness of this post, but I felt this had to be shared...
Jessica and Elizabeth's exact birth date is revealed in Last Wish as June the 13th. In the book, everyone goes on about how their birthday falls on Friday the 13th this year and is therefore an unlucky date, and we all know the twins are Geminis, so it must be June. Well, another pair of blonde-haired, blue-eyed twins happen to have the exact same birth date - Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. I kid you not. I read this recently in a magazine (and imdb.com verifies it). I just think this is a bit of a bizarro coincidence!
And while I'm OT, I might as well segue way further and plug this book "Twins" I just read. It's not Sweet Valley related, I know, but I swear the author must have read Sweet Valley when she was younger, because the book features two blond-haired, blue-eyed twins who are "movie star pretty" and as different as night and day. The twins' father is a lawyer, they have one older brother, and there's even a character named Todd! Plus there's mention of the 'good twin' wearing barrettes. You can't deny the similarities. The book is like an account of what might happen if Jessica and Elizabeth grew up in modern day New York (with its horribly corrupting influences), had entirely (instead of almost entirely) neglectful parents, and got a bit of Nora and Margo's obsessive, compulsive psychoticness in them. I highly recommend it as a mighty enjoyable read, as it did remind me throughout of Jess and Liz! You can read some of it online at Amazon.

wendiddy has since pointed out even more similarities of "Twins" to Sweet Valley - 1. the 'bad' twin is four minutes younger (!!!!), 2. the twins have a dog, and 3. the book is published by a guy called William Morrow. Pretty crazy.)
