This story focuses on Lacey mostly. And I am kinda sympathetic toward her too. Amazing!

I love books (and Christmases!) without Elizabeth. But it makes it so much harder to snark!

I gotta say, if I were treated like shit the way Lacey is, even if I were a little shit the way Lacey is, the family would be returning to a house of embers because I’d be retaliating. With fire.

Fire is the best kind of retaliation. :)

I do feel bad for Lacey. I always thought she was prety cool, especially after this book wqhich made her quyite sympathetic. I always like characters who bitch at the Wakefields, though. They do half the snarking for me!

It's so weird how the characters will have friends who don't like each other.

Jessica likes both Bethel and Kristin, but Bethel doesn't like Kristin.
Kristin likes both Lacey and Jessica, but Lacey doesn't like Jessica.
Kristin likes both Brian and Lacey, but Brian doesn't like Lacey.

Lacey is a real bitch in the series, but you also can't help but feel sorry for her - when you think of how Victoria treats her. Kristin's mother also seems to treat her like crap.

This is my first Sweet Valley series and was surprised when I started reading the early Sweet Valley High because for the first time, I hated Jessica. SVJH is my favourite series!

BTW, Brian has an older brother. Read Boy.Friend.

I, on the other hand, loved Jessica and wanted Liz to shut up and mind her own business. She was such a hypocryte! I never read JH, but these recaps are making me like it... especially the lack-of-Liz! :-D Sorry, thatissophat. ;-)

Don't appologize for hating on Liz. She is pretty annoying in SVH. Why is she always people turn for help?
