Could have been a Funny Story

So I was asked if Teddy, my wife, and I could carry up the gifts at Mass on our Cruise. As many of you know, Teddy is very well behaved most of the time. Usually not in church, but most other times. I gladly accepted the opportunity to participate in the liturgy. After partaking in an excursion and tour of Jamaica (Fort of saint Philippe in Columbia is pictured below, not Jamaica.) We got back to the ship with a tired little monster who was in need of a nap.

Here I must interject that as a child close to Teddy's age I had helped cary the gifts. The story goes that as I was walking down the isle, holding my parents hands and on my exclaimed count of three I ran and lifted my feet in the air hanging from my parents hands. The whole week Teddy had been dragging his feet like a hippy protestor going limp as we dragged him off to our various destinations. This was quickly becoming one of his favorite activities of the week, and eventually he would fuss if we would cary him instead of drag him places. You can probably see where I'm going in order for this to be a funny story. Instead, he fussed all during Mass, fighting sleep, and his parents.

The moral of the story that as a parent, the best way to enjoy anything is to make sure that the smallest person is being taken care of, if he is clean, fed, well rested, and entertained then the rest just seems to fall into place. I think that there maybe a homily somewhere in that last sentence.
