A good example of how society is slowly falling apart. Someone is basically killed in a very strange way, and nobody bothers to report it on the national news. /end satire This leaves me with a very good thought I had one time in latin... Quis custodiet ipsos custodes.... oh well.
Im drunk. Oh well.
The previous latin that I put was a saying translated roughly towards Who guards the guardians. This makes me relate to the thought about how exactly we can guarantee that the guardians are in check, and that they follow suit towards the actions of the reigning power. Does this seem a bit extravagent? If society is limited by the governing power, and that power attempts to gain more control, who is to stop that bodyment from gaining more power than it obviously was ment to have?
Social norms have dictated that we accept what we are told. But, this is in conflict with various instances with human nature. Bertrand Russell once said that "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." This, in question, is a thought that I try not to think about.
I was once told that goverments should fear their people. That they are the soul of the country, and that they are the blood that keeps it working. But, what should really be feared, is the goverment that no longer fears it's people, and itself is something that instills fear into it's civilians.
I shouldn't drink anymore tonight...
