So I'm back in Norman. :) I'm living here for the summer and working with the same graduate student I've worked with for the past 2 summers. I figure it'd be easier for me to go back to work for him than for him to train another poor naive undergraduate to both his personality and his research.
It's nice to be back, although after living in Marlow for 5 1/2 months I had forgotten how frustrating traffic can be. I suppose I better get used to it, seeing how I'm upgrading to College Park, Maryland this fall.
I'm living with Ted and 3* other stinky boys. It's taken some getting used to, but all in all the transition has been pretty smooth. It also helps that one of the boys is moving out after the semester is over and I'll get a room to call my own. I'll also get back that lovable, fluffy, bitchy gray cat everyone knows and loves. Well, everyone but Ted, who is, unfortunately, allergic. But he's taking allergy shots, and I'm going to keep the fur picked up as best I can....we'll see how it goes.
In other interesting news, I have a new man in my life, but I left him in Marlow. His name is Jasper, and he's a large, young, fluffy yellow cat. He happened upon the Marlow household probably about a month ago. As my parents already have two house cats, Jasper has become an outside cat. He is an amazing cat. He has a very long face, and every time he meows it sounds and looks like he's crying. Consequently, Mom and I are completely besotted. Every time he comes up to me and meows, I pick him up and get cat hair all over me. Mom is making a new pillow for him to lay on. One night when it was going to storm really badly, I moved him into the garage. One early morning he found himself on the roof of the house and Mom helped him back down. He's completely spoiled.
He, like all cats, has little quirks. Jasper, nicknamed Jazz, loves long hair. He loves being held, and he loves being held by me when my hair is down. He will push his head into my hair and start kneading with his claws on my neck - purring up a storm the whole time. He will curl into my shoulder and hair and fall asleep. If he doesn't do this, he crawls up over my shoulder and onto my back, where he makes himself comfortable and won't get off no matter how I move.
Here are some pictures of this crazy, lazy, amazing cat:

*Quite right, Nick. I am neither male nor stinky. :) One more point for the boys.
