After reading Tom Friedman's From Beirut to Jerusalem this spring, I can't help but feel sorry for the Lebanese civilians. They've been getting screwed by everyone (including Lebanese militias) for decades. Hopefully everything calms down soon. And hopefully the United States stays out of it.

why is the U.S staying out of it btw? don't they need aid? it seems like they're losing and i'm sure help would be good.

Humanitarian aid would be great and Israel is at least allowing a corridor through its lines for that; I meant we should stay out of it militarily as it isn't our fight. Unfortunately, the United States is shipping bombs and missiles to the Israelis with all possible speed so that they can continue bombing Lebanese refugees with the hopes that a few of them might be terrorists.
