Godric sat down with a weary sigh. Tonight, he felt every minute of his 2000 years. He'd planned to disappear after he'd faked his own death, cut all strings and move on. He hadn't counted on the bond he had with Eric.
He watched from the sidelines and shadows as Eric fell in love with Sookie. It pained Godric; he knew that nothing good could come from loving a human. She would grow old, she would die. Eric would grieve. Eternal pain, eternal loss.
He had to let Eric see for himself. It was time for Eric to begin again.
