Summary: Reckless driving is what Danny McCoy is known for when angry.
Remember the pursuit down the strip for one guy? Oh yeah.
When Danny finds out Penny isn’t who she is what does he do…?
He goes for a drive with 2 six packs and a fresh tank of gas.
The doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital were having a slow night
until a one Daniel McCoy was rushed into the hospital for a car
accident. Can they save him from slipping over the edge or is
Danny too far gone? What happens when when Izzie’s bedside manner
gets her too cozy to the new mysterious patient? Why didn’t Derek
show up at the bar that night? Is George strong enough to be a
wall for Meredith to lean on? All questions that need answers.
George protested side glaring at Meredith as they walked the halls of Seattle Grace Hospital. “She’s….she’s not my type.” He was going to say ‘she’s not you.’, but he caught himself in time before the words could slip from his mouth and ruin his and Meredith’s friendship.
“Don’t get upset about it George. It’s alright if you do. I mean she was a model and that can be very appealing to the average red blooded American male. I mean look at Alex.” She said stopping in the hallway and crossing his arms over her chest, watching Isobel and Alex argue at the end of the hallway. It had been like this for days. He still wasn’t being honest with her and each night Meredith could see her roommate becoming more and more frustrated with Alex’s antics.
George stopped next to Meredith and looked on at the fight. He held his clipboard against him kind of enjoying the scene. He liked it when Alex got told off. The guy gave him syphilis so it was like karmatic payback to George.
“Ten to one she hits him with her clipboard and he falls down the elevator shaft.”
George looked to his right to see Christina standing with an amused grin on her face. George couldn’t help, but smile. That would be entertaining. They were standing next to an elevator shaft the workers were fixing. “Nah I bet she uses her fist.”
“You guys are terrible.” Meredith said shaking her head with a smile clearly present on her face. “No one is falling down an elevator shaft today.”
“Unless it’s McDreamy and you push him.” Commented Christina pointing her pen at Meredith.
Meredith sighed and slumped her shoulders. “I hate you guys.” She said turning and heading back down the hallway. She was about to head up to watch a surgery Derek was performing, but was stopped by the ER doors sliding open and a couple of EMT’s pushing a guy in on a gurney.
Two hours ago…
“Sweet cherry pie!” The speakers thumped in the old convertible. Danny McCoy was clearly drunk and swerving all over the road. All he needed was a beer, couple tapes and his car. Cutting across the highway he heard wild horns and curses. Turning his head slightly he saw the bright lights seconds before he was slammed into from the side. It only lasted a minute or two, but the consequences would last a lifetime.
He awoke in grass. In the distance his car lay upside down burning. His head hit the ground and he turned it looking down the road. He could see the sign. ‘Welcome to Seattle’. The world went dark and he didn’t awaken until he lay on the gurney. Eyes barely open as the doors to the ER slid open. “Welcome to Seattle…” he whispered to himself.
Now…
Izzie was beginning to seriously want to just shove Alex down the elevator shaft and be done with him. He could tell her the truth and that was what made this attraction so messed up. He was a liar and she still wanted him. “Why didn’t you take the scalpel really?”
Alex shifted uneasily and then threw on a sloppy half smirking grin. “I thought I’d give George a shot. You know you said it yourself he doesn’t have the most steady hands and I wanted to make sure he got some practice in.” Izzie groaned and hit him in the arm with the clipboard.
“You owe me ten dollars Bambie!” Christina yelled smiling at George and pointing her clipboard in his direction.
“But he didn’t go down the shaft!” George protested. George whirled around at the sound of Meredith yelling for a hand. “We will talk about this later.” He told Christina. He bounded down the hallway as the gurney was rushed his way.
