“The new amendment reads like they’re trying to convict us before we’ve even done anything,” Stiles said, slamming the paper onto the table. “Guilt by species? That’s unconstitutional, right?”
Derek, seated across from him, read the proposal with a grim expression. “They’re twisting public fear into policy. If this passes, anyone supernatural could be detained without cause.”
“Not on my watch,” Stiles declared, standing. “We need allies-humans who see us as people, not monsters.”
Derek’s lips twitched. “You really think you can convince them?”
Stiles smirked. “Convince, annoy, charm-whatever it takes. They’ll listen.”
