'what is the biggest accomplishment of mankind during your life?'

pre-calc test...now that was interesting. i wrote little notes on mine. example, when my answer did not match any of the choices: "sorry mr. hirsch..."
i was in an amusing mood by the time i got to religion, and was all set to write a really funny essay about the church's obsession with babies, before i recalled that it was supposed to be a contemplative essay on the relationship between the church and society. or something like that. so about halfway through my paper there is a rather abrupt shift in tone, which i hope will go unnoticed.

and i had to miss practice again, this time for NCL (haha john, a REAL meeting this time). such a drag. i had to go home, change clothing into something 'appropriate' and 'presentable,' and book it over to the extended care wing of the hospital. at least i was assigned a rather interesting man to chat up for half an hour. he traveled to fifty countries, owned a cherry red '49 chevy, served in ww2, has an adorable great granddaughter, thinks that my generation wastes life in front of the tv, believes that my generation has the world as our oyster (contradiction much?), marvels at technological advances, etc.

i detest jane eyre. i can sympathize when her feelings are beaten over my head, but really, she has a pathetic life and it's depressing to read about it.

i am excited about this weekend. should be fun stuff. anyone up for ice-skating?

oooohhh and guess what?? my cousin's wife just e-mailed us pictures of the newest baby of the family, bryson john, who was born nine days ago. odd-looking kid. a bit wrinkly. but SOOOOO cute!!! gotta love 'em.
