I AM FEELING QUITE LIKE A BALLER TODAY, HOW ABOUT YOU? (omg my spanish professor, a.k.a. The Best Teacher On This Planet, is moving to Brazil and he used to say 'baller' all the time holy fuck I miss him Dx)
Evil = lack of empathy. Huh. That IS interesting. Almost like evil is a mental disability because, for some reason, the chemicals in your brain cannot get from point A to point B to produce 'empathy'. So, if we view it like this, Evil is a disability, then that opens a new question. IS this lack of empathy something you get from birth? Are there evil infants without the brainpower to feel empathy? Or is it sometimes formed over the years, from abuse and other things that force your brain to adapt and cut out empathy completely? Because, then, perhaps they are not evil by nature, but they were forced to become evil as a defense mechanism. And who can really blame them for that? Do I even make sense?
I wonder if Gerard has ever gotten wind of this ~deeper meaning and been all "O.O I just like being a hero..."
AHHH! I love it too. Not sure how much will actually be true steampunk (if that makes sense) but the style of writing should be there. LAAAA ahshdjfjfdgdd <33
This sounds really cool. Braaaaaaiiiinssss. Sorry.
So, your degree of evilness (or goodness I guess) depends on how much empathy your brain can produce. So, the abnormality or disability of being unable to feel empathy could be considered a mental defect. Being "evil" could be similar to having Aspergers Syndrome. My brother has it, and though he functions similarly to a normal kid, he has problems picking up on sarcasm and he doesn't mature like other children. His brain performs differently. And while he's very bright, somewhere in the process of communication, the "spark" of knowledge is lost somewhere between point A and point B. What I'm saying is, evilness could easily be considered a mental disability. Calling a ZDE evil is like calling a kid with Aspergers immature. The literal equivalent of evil cannot be called evil because it is a brain defect of sorts. The people who could be classified as evil by this theory have suffered abuse or trauma. So, if they hadn't had trauma, they would be "normal" and good be society's standards. How can you call that evil? It's like calling a mentally challenged person stupid.
But this might conclude that yes, evil would run in the family. If they were abused by their parents, the parents must have been evil (because I'd like to think that mentally healthy parents wouldn't abuse their children) from the same cause. Let's say Tom is a ZDE patient because he was abused my his father. His father had zero degrees of empathy as well. How? Because HE was also abused. It's a domino effect. It can go back generations and generations because the abuser will cause the same stress (I would assume) And not all victims feel this, you're right. But I would guess that if your father did and then he abused you (mercilessly because he has no empathy) it is likely that you would also lose that empathy, and the chain could potentially go on forever.

Yeah. There's so many little ifs and exceptions..that's why it's hard to pin down what evil is in the first place. The whole concept of evil is complex and ever-changing. By the time we die, the theory or evil might have been completely changed! We could be considered evil in a century or so.
DO THE CREEP (ahhhh) whut.
Yes, the fact that she's so popular with young kids is somewhat depression. YO IMMA SMACK YOU IF U A HO MKAY. Seriously, she's the ho here. No offense Nicki. Actually I totally meant offense by that.

IDk bro those exorcism movies seem to send a clear message of LET THEM SPIRITS BE MKAY.
If Gerard had kept the poofy blonde hair everything could have taken a turn for the steampunk so easily. Still can, but yknow.
