If Steph were being honest with herself -- and honestly, it got harder the longer she worked with Batman -- she would admit she couldn’t really think about Superman without blushing and remembering when she used to run around her room with a red pillowcase around her neck, jumping off furniture.
Being Robin means putting on a professional face in the presence of other, non-Bat vigilantes, though, even if they are your crush from when you were five.
She beams prettily up at the solid wall of alien muscle in front of her, and asks, “What can I do for you?”
It’s a bit obscene to say that in that tone of voice when she’s asking Superman, but making him look like he wants to blush is the best thing Steph’s ever done. She grins a little more, and shifts her hips.
“Well...?”
“I...” the pause is extremely telling. Steph’s glad she’s a girl, and it doesn’t take her years of study to know stuff like that. “I heard Batman had acquired a new partner, but you weren’t what I was expecting.”
That could be code for a million things, from I’m highly doubting your competence to Batman isn’t gay?. Steph quirks her lip, and does a cartwheel across the roof just because she can.
“It’s the blonde thing, isn’t it? I know, I know, but I like breaking traditions.”
