Train stop-over at Havre, just over halfway to Glacier.

The first view we saw getting off at Glacier. That's our hotel, and...

...this is what the lobby looked like. Those trees still have their bark on.

At breakfast the next morning. Dat's my cute husband!

First leg of the tour, not even in the park proper yet.

Stop at an old railroad inn. That's the roll-top tour bus.

The inn had some neat memorabilia. We got hot chocolate and I posed ironically with propaganda posters.

Approaching the park entrance.

Southern end of Lake MacDonald, the biggest lake in the park.

We had lunch at an inn at the north end of the lake, and this is the view.

Jon played in the stream flowing into the lake.

Views from the mountain road. Holy crap, right?! In the last one you can see lots of grey patches where there have been forest fires on recent years.

That giant patch of snow is a legit glacier. OH MY GOD.

Also, goats. They are Jon's favorite animals. The kid had teeny weeny new baby horns!

In front of St Mary's Lake, the second biggest lake in the park and apparently a much-photographed location for calendars and stuff.

And there you go! So nifty.

ridiculous amounts of awesome, things i love, photopost, pictures, vacations & travel
