Blathering.

Well...it has been some time.

Things are progressing. I am of late less brain crazy, or at least much better at keeping a firm hand on the reins. I had a moment of clarity a few weeks ago in which I essentially bitch-slapped myself into the realization that Jon is hurting more than I ever have, and he now needs no less than my entire capacity to care for him. It has not been easy, but I am doing my best. And "my best" is currently a damn sight better than it was a few weeks ago, so.

Work is okay. I mostly enjoy it but there is no sense of pacing; there are either one million things to do RIGHT NOW, or nothing at all to do while the hours stretch into the distance. I am getting excellent Spanish practice; 3 of my coworkers are Mexican immigrants, and one in particular has a hard time with English. So we contribute to one another's education. It's nice. My speech was rusty but came back quickly, though my comprehension often leaves things to be desired.

I am now a terrifying 40 DAYS out from my second dan test. My entire left arm (and much of my leg) is covered in bruises at the moment, from a weapons class last Thursday. Miss Rebecca and I will be performing a tonfa/bo pattern for part of the test, so we've both taken a few accidental whacks from what we've been lovingly referring to as our "beating sticks". I'm exceptionally nervous. My curriculum needs polish, but what really scares me is a few of the breaks that I know are coming. Hopefully I can pull it together. I'm training about 4 days a week right now, including my guerrilla "date night" with Miss Rebecca on Wednesdays.

Aaaaanyway. Made some banana bread and chocolate chip cookies this weekend. The bread was a totally random new recipe that turned out awesome. :) So, yay!

I don't know what else for now.

work, belt test, life update blaaah, español, food is f-ing wonderful, ramble, self-inspection and mental health, martial arts
