oh don't, no don't sink the boat

It's already Wednesday? WTF! What a weekend.

Last night was exceptionally nice. After I got home from class I went to the grocery store to buy some chicken breasts, sweet corn, and pearl onions. I cleaned up my room, made some orange tea, and cooked up a delicious dinner with potatoes and the stuff I bought. (And I brought leftovers for lunch today!) I also experimented with a garlic and curry marinade for one of the other slices of chicken, so I'll probably cook that with rice tonight and see how it turns out. I love cooking; I missed real food. I think the pearl onions are my greatest new discovery. They're a little more expensive than a big one, but they're sweet and you don't need a lot of them to add a ton of deliciousness to a dish. Plus it's easier for me because I don't have half a chopped-up onion to use before it goes bad. Yummmm!

I hate to say it, but my lack of computer at home has actually become a bit of a boon. It's an utter pain in the ass when I need to type something up for school, or over the weekends when I want to go online, but really it's kept me from just vegging out for hours and hours at a time. I've read more in the last 4 days than I had in the two or three weeks previous! Now as long as I can resist the sirensong of the TV, I'll be okay. ;-)

I start my UHS clinic shifts today. (It was supposed to be last week, but, uh, obviously me=copiously ill at the time.) I'm kind of nervous. I already know what I'm doing in a broad sense, so that's not a big deal, but it's a new supervisor to begin with, and the other therapists have said that at UHS you have 3 clients per shift every day...so it'll be a lot of work, at least until I build up more endurance.

I can't wait for the end of the tri. Time has been flying. It's so close I can taste it, but there's still a lot to get done between now and then. The last day of T2 classes is April 16th, and the term/spring break is 18 days (until May 5th). I'm hoping to be able to get up to Duluth for at least a few days during that.

I need to start getting my plans cracking for next year. Tabby got her acceptance letter from MCAD a few weeks ago, so that cements the beginning of our big 'moving in together' adventure. My lease with Sue is actually up at the end of April, but I've talked to her about extending it either to or through August. I graduate on August 15th; we'll have to figure out when Tabby starts classes. Right now I'm kind of thinking that we should find an apartment starting in August, and I can just bus in from the city for my last few weeks of classes. We're going to try and find a place close to MCAD, so Tabby can walk to campus, and hopefully I can find a job of some sort within a reasonable distance. (Even if I can't get a massage-related job right away, I figure there are target stores everywhere in Minneapolis and I can put in for a transfer to one of them.) Basically we need a place near MCAD, within our price range (dur), on a busline, and in a building that allow cats. I'd prefer not to have any other roommates or whatever, but we'll see what goes down. We shall see. =D

Anywho. Babbling. Time to go eat my delicious leftovers and then head to clinic, after which I have to make up yesterday's Applied lab. (I skipped it to finish my project for Employment Essentials.) And then, home! To cook and read and hopefully do laundry (unless the dryer's still broken). I lead an exciting life. ;-)

Paz y amor.
