Trust me when I say you're not alone. We all feel like we were useless in that place--and everyone had friends who were suffering; we couldn't do anything to help...

But right now, what will keep your friend strong is your love and support. That sort of thing will make up for failing a friend, no matter what. Even if they pull away from you at first, or tell you they can handle it on their own... just being there for them is what matters most.
