Why. Won't. You. Come. OUT?! Arrrgh! Where did all my power disappear to?

Oh, I get it. Are you just trying to ramp up this conflict, Touma? If you are, where are you? Too scared to show your face after using your trump card? I won't believe that I've been beaten by a coward so come out and face me!

Nnnnn.....TOUMAAAAAA!!

Hey, hey! What's all this screaming about?!!

[Ema goes to the source of the noise and realizes that this girl is not her creepy drone daughter. She now has two teenage not!children at the ripe old age of twenty-five. Screw you, Mayfield.]

I... take it you're new.

Huh...? Oh! Hi...?

[Well, this is kind of awkward.]

I'm Ema. I'm your fake mother in this place. [She holds out a hand.]

Mi...saka.

[awkwardly taking her hand]

[Awkward shake!]

I guess you already know Touma, if your screaming indicates anything... That's it for actual people in this family. The fake father is a drone.

"Idiot," huh? [This is the part in which Ema regrets not actually getting to know her not!son.] Any particular reason why that is?

You know people like that. They lack common sense and fail nearly every class in school.

[Yeah, Ema knows the type. She doesn't really know Touma, so she can't defend him from the charges.] I see. And you're brighter than that, I'm guessing?

I ace all my courses in school.

Good for you! [Not at all condescending--Ema likes people who are smart and excel in school. She was one of those kids once, at least when it came to things that weren't English or history or anything unrelated to science, bleck.

Okay, Ema was a horribly imbalanced student. But she was good at the subject she cared about!]

Why don't you help out Touma on his school work? I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

I'll talk to him about it, sure. [Although Ema isn't sure that academic performance matters here. She'll have to ask Touma during the "pep talk".]
