For 'chigger.
Right Iain M Banks is a Scottish writer who writes both sci-fi and contemporary fiction (without an M) He has written 11 fiction books, ranging from the shocking, The Wasp Factory, Complicity, to the (almost) mundane (Dead Air). His next book is also fiction, The Steep Approach To Garbadale is due out in the UK in March. His sci-fi, written with an M, is mostly set in The Culture, a galaxy spanning civilization that is what one could call a super power I suppose, only 3 sci-fi books so far are not Cultured Feersum Endjinn, Against A Dark Background, and The Algebraist. I've enjoyed all of his books, even getting one autographed at the Eastercon Concussion Event in 2006, where the Interesting Pints gang first met up, a bunch of guys from the Iain M Banks forum. When I work out how to get photos on here, I'll post the ones I took up there. A great time was had that night, I can tell you!
