After completing a portion of an Assignment dealing with water guns, platypi, and guacamole (don't ask; He may work in mysterious ways, but Lucifer's are just as mystifying), Crowley has decided that he needed a break, which brings us to where he is now ( Read more... )

Murata waves as he sees someone and if people don't come to him and his relentlessly open posts in the community then he will go to them. Be very afraid.

"Hello!" He beams at Crowley. "That's nice of you to feed the ducks!" Then he pauses thoughtfully as he sees their odd behaviour.

Caught with an expression that's somewhere between annoyed and sheepish, Crowley turns to look at him.

"Nice? Funny, I never thought of it that way before."

"Well, feeding them is a nice thing but.... they don't all seem to be enjoying the food, do they?" He laughs. "What are in those crumbs?"

"Magic," Crowley replies with a slight grin, flicking another crumb out into the water and watching two ducks squabble over it. "Combine it with a bored demon, and you get endless hours of entertainment."

"Ah! You're a demon?" He looks at Crowley with even more interest.

"I am," he replies, slightly more cautious now. "Half the time I wish I wasn't."

He gives an air of naive bouyant innocence but his eyes have a knowledgeable look to them, as does his tone when he sounds more serious.

"You are the first one of the Earth demons that I have met here... Why do you wish not to be a demon? Because of prejudice?"

Crowley pauses, then reasons that if there were people from other worlds here, then of course, there would also be demons from other worlds.

At the second question, he gives a wry sort of smirk. "Yeah, prejudice, but probably not the way you think. Personal reasons."

"Lucky the humans don't know or don't believe of your existance for the most part," he says wisely. "You avoid the wars. Well, not all wars, of course, if what I know of your Western religions is true.... It must be difficult, even so." He says thoughtfully.

At this, Crowley looks slightly intrigued. "Do your demons war with the humans? I almost think that'd be easier, because with demons and angels, we were them once, and we still remember how it felt-- bless it, I'm away for a few weeks and I turn into a sap."

The end of the sentence is accompanied by a violent flinging of the rest of the crumbs into the pond, resulting in a series of very unhappy ducks.

Ken frowns toward the squawking ducks then looks back at Crowley. "Yes. There were many wars between the demons and the humans in the other world I know of. There has been progress in making peace but that takes time. These are different demons to your kind though. They are known as Mazoku. They were never angels..."

"Huh. That's different. All I know is that there will never be a peace between the two sides, here. We're just going to keep fighting until one side wins."

"You should speak to the Maou."

"Should I really? Who is he? -- or she," he adds as an afterthought.

Typist: I use proper grammar, really!

"He is the Demon King. Though not, of course, of your kind of demons...," he explains, not wanting a misunderstanding. "If anyone can bring any kind of peace to you, it would be him. Just ask for Shibuya Yuuri."

A bit of panic sets in at the words 'Demon King'; but really, with what Crowley's been through, it's not exactly unexpected.

"I'd really like to trust your judgement, but -- er, if he's anything like our leader, I'd rather not talk to him."
