"The Spy in Black"

So I just got done watching a movie called "The Spy in Black" directed by Michael Powell, 1939.   It was actually quite excellent, and although the plot was very linear and so forth, it was fun to watch, because they shot it well and lit the thing well.  It wasn't as impressively lit as say, a film noir, but that's a different style of cinematic lighting entirely.

It takes place in Orkney Island, Scotland.   I won't give away any details of the film, but if you have a criterion channel subscription, you can watch it there.

Here below is the link for the direct page to the film.  I gave up watching netflix and all that manner of thing years ago, and just switched to these folks, I like actual movies for arts sake, where they're done in quality and well - how films used to be.

Criterion has quite a lovely collection of all manner of things that don't stink, I mean not everything there is my cup of tea, but they assuredly do have a LOT to watch.
