College is kind of awesome sometimes

As the title indicates, school's been treating me rather nicely lately. My last class on Friday was canceled this week, and even though that's my Civil War class and I enjoy it I won't mind having the extra hour or so off. More time for baseball, I say!

But you know what my Pedroia icon means by now - it's time for the inevitable Pac-10 update of the week! That confusion with the standings has been cleared up - it is, in fact, a three-way tie for first right now. Since the formatting isn't working all that well on LJ and I didn't feel like making a chart, I got lazy and screencapped the standings from the Pac-10 website:

So now that that's all fixed up, let's move on...This week, the Player of the Week is Sean Ratliff (Stanford - go on and make fun of me) and the Pitcher of the Week is Nick Haughian (Washington). No, not Nick Hagadone, although I will admit that his name did immediately pop into my mind there.

Also, don't tell Dustin, but Stanford took two of three from Arizona State this weekend. We don't want him driving down to Pawtucket to beat up on Jed or anything.

EDIT: This is unrelated, but I had to post it - it's an incredibly interesting article on Evan Longoria from MiLB.com. I'll be up to my old four-games-at-once tricks again tonight - Mets-Phillies on ESPN, the Sox on the radio, and the PawSox and Iowa Cubs both on Gameday in different internet applications. Yes, I know I'm weird. But I'm a bit of an addict...
