Some schoolwork kept me away from the home opener today, which the Sox won 5-0 (which means the Tigers still haven't won a game yet...). Of course, it's not like it was bad schoolwork - it was some military history stuff.
I love this stuff.
Okay, my Civil War geekdom aside, the boys have finally snapped their losing streak. (I swear, they do better when I'm not watching! I was once called away after four days of losing for one night, and Clay Buchholz went and threw a no-hitter when I wasn't looking!) I was planning on watching the next Iowa Cubs game tonight, but it's been postponed (nuuu!), so I'll make do with Syracuse and Indianapolis whilst I listen to Portland on the radio. (Go Rick Justin!) Oh, and
Pawtucket also won today, 4-1. Chris Carter has been on a total tear lately, if you haven't noticed.
Otherwise...that's it. There's really not much else I can say - except maybe that I'm terribly glad not to be a Tigers fan right now. I truly feel for them, though - there's something that just isn't working for them...
EDIT:
Vintage baseball as a Minor League promotion? I'd so be there - if only I could be. (Those are the rules I play by!)
EDIT 2: Watching the Stanford-Tennessee game on ESPN right now. That damn Tree sticks out like a sore thumb...and I love it. (They even put it on the JumboTron! I laughed.)
