This literally made me explode with joy.
SoxProspects.com is already out projecting the 2009 rosters, even though we're barely into 2008. Either way, there were some aspects of this new roster that just about made me die with happiness. There are one or two things that made me rather sad, though. It's a bit like watching a movie, I guess. Either

Argenis and Lars are my youngin boys. Though hell I like all the youngins. Oh and I likely am going to be going to McCoy on April 3rd because of my TV Production class stuff and the RIC trip(and one of the guys I'm doing the project with has connections anyway just in case).
And to top it all off I just came across This really sweet article about the rookies and veterans and stuff...and this one little line from Tito seemed to make me snorfle in adorability.(btw AC = nickname for Cora)
And it didn't take clubhouse access to see the personality of Pedroia - measured, teammates say, until he began performing - the success of Buchholz and the blinding speed of Ellsbury has injected some needed life into the Sox' veteran core.
"Look at how many times last year things could have maybe broken down. Cora's hitting about .400. Petey's (Pedroia) scuffling. Who helped Petey more than anybody? AC," Francona said, beaming. "If somebody was taking a shot at Petey, who was the first one to be there with his arm around him? Mikey Lowell. That's two of the more veteran guys we have on our team. I think that's the way it's supposed to be."
Awwwww

YES! I'm still planning to get up there this year - I have to try to convince my friends that getting there when the park opens so we can watch BP is a good idea. I'm still trying to imagine myself trying to get Jed to sign something, though - I honestly think I'd be way too shy to talk to him in person. (I'm...well, notoriously easily embarrassed. I can barely make eye contact with people I'm physically attracted to, so it'd be even harder here, considering I'm totally smitten in this case.)
Those two are totally Dustin's adopted parents. I love how they kept an eye on him, too, and generally took care of him - and then stepped aside and let him blossom. Just like real parents, actually!

I haven't been to Pawtucket since 04(I know I fail) but I'm hoping to catch a few games this year. I mean tickets are really cheap(9 dollars) and if you get there early enough parking is free(otherwise you gotta park on the lawns or some shit and that costs some moolah from residents and such). McCoy is actually a really good ballpark. They don't do too many of those bells and whistles things that other minor league teams do(they do have some bobblehead nights(August 2nd is Dustin Pedroia bobblehead night...if you or a friend can pass for 14, that'd be ideal))
And I love the whole family dynamic of them. The three of them are so awesome. That's why I found all the people being all like "OMG CORA SHOULD START"(as I've said before, I love Cora but....no) funny because hell even Cora knew damn well that he was just holding the fort until Petey found his groove.
And I find it funny that I'm such a nerd about numbers, OPS' and all that ish but yet my favorite players aren't usually that good.

"We've been friends for a long time now, but everywhere we go, Jacoby is in demand for autographs and interviews."
Awww, that must be awkward. I'm one of the few who'd want the same thing from Jed, though. His interviews are hilarious.
(I'm currently live-blogging the game as I type this. I'm on three hours of sleep. What's wrong with me?)

Most of my favorites are shaky defensively. They can hit, but they're a bit clumsy with their hands. Kaz is one of those, and Jed's another. (Kaz is just a weird sentimental favorite of mine - although now that I know that he and Daisuke were teammates back in Japan, I look slightly less weird.)
