I was about to post that on your journal, but then I noticed you'd already found out. I love Brandon, too - especially those little details, like how he's nearly always chewing bubble gum and such.

I'm waiting to see what number they give Jed - my aim is to be the first person with a Lowrie shirt out there. I'm a creepy stalker kind of a dork.

Haha, same with me & Moss :D. I don't know where this random Moss-love came from, but okay, brain. Maybe it's the slight resemblance he has to Mike Jacobs -- blonde spiky hair plus constant gum chewing. Hahaha. I don't know. *weird*

I just know that I'm going to order a shirt & he'll change his number the next day. >.<

That's the only reason I'm waiting on Jed - I'm not so sure he'll be keeping that 82. (I doubt he'd want to, anyway, since he went to Stanford and 1982 was the year The Play happened...)

I sort of fell in love (okay, literally fell in love - hard) when I was following the Arizona Fall League to keep up with the Sox prospects and he was there. It's at the point now where I have a very frequently used tag on my LJ that reads "I am obsessed with Jed Lowrie." It's more than a little pathetic.

(And I make terribly stupid excuses to use this icon sometimes, too.)

It's weird in order of preference of players I like this

*Infielders(I lump DH in this)
*Relief Pitchers
*Outfielders
*Starting Pitchers
*Catchers

But yet I love the shit out of Kevin Cash...I am not sure why.

I'm a total middle infield geek. All the people I've traditionally become attached to (Kaz included) are middle infielders. I'm not sure where I'd put the others, although if it wasn't middle infielders I'd probably go to the outfield.

(I caught once, and it was a bad idea because there weren't enough people and I had to catch for both sides. I therefore have a high respect for anyone who can bear to play the position...)

Yeah mine is definitely infielders(particularly 2B, SS, and 3B) and relievers. I mean even with Bronson Arroyo(trust me, it was hard to be a fan of his in 05. Really fucking hard because half the time I just wanted to mock the shit out of him), I started liking him when he was a reliever in the 03 team. It just carried on as he made his starts. :)

Also, I just learned that my school is doing a PawSox Opening Day trip. Only five bucks! :D (and given that Jed, Justin, and possibly Clay will be there; I'm on that like a mofo) But it's normally like 9 bucks to get in anyway...parking is what kills ya.

Five bucks for a trip to McCoy? DO IT!

When I first got out to my rural PA college, I brought my Sox stuff just in case I'd have an opportunity to hit Camden Yards, which both of my parents said was unlikely. Within three weeks I was at a Sox game because an anti-substance abuse campus organization I belong to had tickets. (I got to see Lester! It made me happy. Of course, I would've seen Clay come on in relief had I been there the night before...)

YAY JAPAN! YAY JED! YAY COCO!

I have this weird thing where I like guys who went to school/were traded/called up together: Tek, Nomah, DLowe, Dice, Oki, MikeLOL, Joshie, Clay, and Jacoby (can I count them? I can't remember. *brain dead*). Other than that, no specific position. Maybe starting pitchers, though. But my #1 is always gonna be Tek.

If you're really into the school thing...Jacoby and Jed met in high school when they played for an Oregon all-state team, then played against each other in college, then got drafted together. It fascinates me like nothing else.

Actually, Pedroia was a scholastic year older than both of them, but he was in the same conference, as well, so it really gets fun. They all have memories of playing against each other, and I've found articles from their school archives describing these on-field encounters. It's disturbingly entertaining.

I hope Schilling blogs about it. They're turning a fanboy loose in Tokyo. Do you know what sort of crud he could possibly get into (and not even on purpose?) Unfortunately, he probably won't. I'm getting all weirded out by the silence.

I am really, really hoping for some footage of Schill in Akihabara. That'd just be classic. (It'd be almost as epic as Papelbon on an episode of Human Tetris...)
