I doubt Josh celebrates Pi Day. Then again, I can think of several people who totally do.

Happy Pi Day, everyone!

(For those who don't know, today's date is 3/14. 3.14, geddit?)

The Sox won a rain-shortened game today, although the Globe's most recent blog entry on it has me all worried: Manny Delcarmen has just left the game walking gingerely out of the game out with the trainer and replaced by Craig Breslow here in the seventh. The ground was wet as a result of the rain that's falling at the moment but Delcarmen went to reach for a ball and then made a throw to second and came up a bit lame. We'll know more in a while. The tarp has now come out and play has been stopped as the rain picks up. Delcarmen is a key part of the Sox bullpen, so any injury as a result of a slick field, would be ill-timed.

I am currently sick to my stomach. This absolutely can't happen. On the plus side, Josh was looking a lot better this morning, and Lugo should get some playing time tomorrow. Here's Tito on Josh: "He said he's closer. He's doing the treadmill. He's getting there. We told him when you think you're there, we'll probably hold you back for a couple of days. He's doing a good job of doing exactly what the trainers tell him to do. That's not an easy thing for him to do. He's such a hundred-mile-an-hour guy."

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought when Tito said Josh is 'doing the treadmill' was that Josh is actually doing this? Yes, I know I have issues. My mind is so terribly warped.

As a closing note, if anyone cares, Stanford beat Arizona last night. The four teams remaining in the basketball championship are USC, UCLA, Stanford and Washington State. The first two play tonight at 9:00 EST, and the second two play at 11:30 EST. Get ready for Over-Caffeinated Jed and Chris 2.0.

EDIT: The Pride of Hyde Park is okay! Here's his own take on what happened to him out there: "I just slipped a little bit on the mound..I have a little bit of tendinitis on my knees anyway, so anytime I slip, it might flare it up a little bit....but I'm good. They probably won't let me throw for a couple of days."

He'll be just fine. Thank goodness!
