I am such a loser...and here's why!

As I tend to mention on this blog often, I out-loser myself rather frequently. I am far and away the geekiest out of all of my college friends (although my friends from back home are quite similar to me and do not bat an eye at my weird behavior and interests). And I'm also the only person I know who gets excited when she's driving back to college because she's stuck at a red light behind a tractor trailer with an Oregon license plate.

(Embarrassingly enough, that is a perfectly true story from last Sunday. Things from Oregon make me happy.)

Last night, when my friend was over, she was playing a lot of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, which admittedly is a very awesome video game. If you haven't heard of it, you take the role of a defense attorney fresh out of law school (Phoenix, of course) and play through several cases, in which all of your clients are perfectly innocent. It's a pretty original idea, and they've just released the fourth game in the series. Oh, and you also get to yell, "Objection!" a lot. Literally. Into the Nintendo DS. It's amazing.

So here's what happens when you were raised in a Mets family, it's baseball season, and your friend is playing Phoenix Wright in your dorm room.

Of course, I am convinced by now that Jed Lowrie exists to make me feel really good about being geeky, as his list of invitees to a dinner party showed earlier this week. I've been reading all the organizational write-ups, and so far not one prospect has managed to out-nerd him with their dinner party answers. One kid came close by mentioning Da Vinci, but Jed's answers were so much more random that I still think he's got a lock on 'geekiest answer' right now.

Then again, I must be pretty close, too, because I doodled the dinner party in English class today. Be warned - this is very loose and everyone was drawn from memory, so I'm not sure how good they look...

Yes, Ted is still frozen. At least I hope so. If he's accidentally thawed, we've got a problem.

(Also, I've still got some requests to draw - I'll see what I can get done this weekend, although I'm going to be a little busy...)

baseball: i am obsessed with jed lowrie, places: oregon, baseball: jed lowrie, art, baseball, baseball: david wright, parody
