Someone posted that lovely Firestone commercial from the Indy 500 on YouTube, so now I can share it with all of you. In all my years of watching auto racing, this is probably the best commercial I've ever seen. It even features Tom Carnegie! (Tom Carnegie was the announcer of the Indy 500 for many years - this was the first year without him. He is the man who says, "Gentlemen, start your engines!" in the commercial, although he lived to be able to amend that to 'ladies and gentlemen' when female drivers began appearing in the 500.)
My favorite part of this commercial, though, is that you get to see Mario Andretti's car from 1969, the backup car which he won the race with. That makes me very happy. Additionally, you get to see his grandson's car in the commercial, as well, if you look carefully enough.
Want to watch? Here you go! Tell me if you get chills, like I do every time I see this.

Best sport ever. I even like it more than baseball, which I'm very passionate about (being a Sox fan, passion is mandatory). Here it is, though: when you're a fan of auto racing, you're a fan for life.
